[ resent again .. my posts were being rejected by the list server ] Perhaps I posted to the wrong maillist.
Let me try again. I am sure that someone on *this* maillist actually works with the nightly build process. Thus .. this message is now moved/copied from here : http://mail.opensolaris.org/pipermail/opensolaris-discuss/2009-November/051640.html ---------------------------- Original Message ---------------------------- Subject: [osol-discuss] nightly fail. three times in two nights. *help* From: "Dennis Clarke" <dcla...@blastwave.org> Date: Thu, November 5, 2009 11:54 To: opensolaris-disc...@opensolaris.org -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Once upon a time this was something I could do in my sleep, and in fact, I am sure I have. With success. :-) Over the past few days I have tried and failed to get a clean nightly build of the OS/Net consolidation. At first I tried with snv_126 and Sun Studio 12 update 1. That failed for a number of reasons. I then reverted to snv_124 and Studio 12. That also failed. I then reverted back to snv_123 and again with Studio 12. That failed last night. The last surviving README.opensolaris was from snv_126 which said these words of warning : ---------------------------------------------------------------------- http://dlc.sun.com/osol/on/downloads/b126/README.opensolaris ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Currently Known Issues ---------------------- These were some of the major known issues at the time of this delivery. The most recent list is available on the OpenSolaris.org website in the Nevada community at: http://opensolaris.org/os/community/onnv/known_issues/ There are problems using recent OpenSolaris builds to build ON. So far builds 124 and 125 are known to be affected. Workarounds: build on snv_123, or build on SXCE. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The results that I am getting are thus : http://www.blastwave.org/dclarke/OpenSolaris/nightly_05_Nov_2009_1416HRS_GMT.txt Has anyone else seen results like these ? Shall I now revert back to Studio 11 in contradiction to the advice that I see posted here : --------------------------------------------------------------------- http://hub.opensolaris.org/bin/view/Community+Group+tools/sun_studio_tools --------------------------------------------------------------------- Compiler/patch information for ON builds Sun Studio 12: * September 2009 download for Sun Studio 12 software and patches: Required for ON build 124 and later. See Sun Studio 12 Compilers and Tools for the OpenSolaris Common Build Environment (CBE) * October 2008 download for Sun Studio 12 software and patches: Required for ON build 100 through ON build 123. See Sun Studio 12 Compilers and Tools for the OpenSolaris Common Build Environment (CBE) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Any insights would be *greatly* appreciated. -- Dennis Clarke dcla...@opensolaris.ca <- Email related to the open source Solaris dcla...@blastwave.org <- Email related to open source for Solaris _______________________________________________ opensolaris-discuss mailing list opensolaris-disc...@opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ opensolaris-code mailing list opensolaris-code@opensolaris.org http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/opensolaris-code
