I proposed this about two years ago but the idea was rejected. In my opinion there is no sense in creating multiple applications with similar functionalities and different problems. Joining efforts would be nice, but as I have insight into both applications right now, they are completely different in design, it would be possible to use transport and drivers from UrJTAG and higher layers such as target from OpenOCD. Also UrJTAG goes into Python, while OpenOCD use JimTCL. This would require enormous effort and clear reorganization of OpenOCD though and this is not a job for one person..
