Dear readers, Just a remark about a tcp/ip socket server to get some discussion going in that direction. Isn't there some sort of library available that does all the hard work? Something like SOAP/DCOM/Corba without the typical configuration problems would be nice. I think it is a bad idea to try and devise a new protocol while many alternatives exist.
