Hello List, as I understand it correct, everything can be used, even close software, if they do not use the "same" program space like the GPL application. Now I have understand while we can not use the wraper DLL!
Second point, please correct me if I am wrong. To solve all the problem here with GPL and non GPL driver, it is allowed to use pipes, socket, or something other communication channels to use this non GPL driver. Because now the non GPL part use an other program space. In this case, I think the best solution, if we want to use the FTD2XX driver, is to use JTAG over TCP/IP like Øyvind has suggested before here: https://lists.berlios.de/pipermail/openocd-development/2009-June/008454.html Does it mean, we need a JTAG-Server which must be started before OpenCOD and where OpenOCD will communicate with? Could this be a solution which will be supported by all the parties here? If YES, I think we can close the GPL discussion, and go this way.
