What should the typedef rules be?
In r1895-1897, I have done most of what I said I would do above, but -- amusingly -- I did not get around to revisiting the typedef sections. I intend to end all future "style wars" by updating the guide once a consensus has been reached by the community. [[This includes any flames sparked by my updates to the guide.]] If agreement proves intractable, the maintainers may need to make executive decisions. I hope this will help improve the code over time.
