Then you probably haven't seen 'make distclean' either which prepares the source tree for distribution as a tarball. It does a 'make clean' and then removes the configure caches and results so configure must be run before 'make' will run again. "He said he hadn't had a byte in three days. I had a short, so I split it with him."
