wrong # args: should be "target [OLDSYNTAX] ?TYPE? ?ENDIAN? ?CHAIN- POSITION? this is infact incorrect as the old syntax only had 3 required args - the

You are correct. When I fixed the bounds checking for the old and older target syntaxes, it fires when the variant is missing. I'll see about making a fix tonight. Note that without the fixes in svn head, omitting the variant would cause a buffer overrun. "He said he hadn't had a byte in three days. I had a short, so I split it with him."
