Should we go ahead and convert all the target config files to the "new"

We're waiting for a patch from someone who is willing to roll up their
sleeves! Hint, hint! Knudge knudge! ;-)

Ask and ye shall receive. The attached patch converts all target creations to the new syntax. It also converts working_area to target configure commands. Lastly, daemon_startup is replaced by init/reset halt.

Also the event/* files should be rolled into the target files as a reset init
events.

I'll do that in a separate patch for clarity.

For that matter, where should the documentation on the "new" syntax
go?

openocd.texi.

type "make pdf"

and you get a PDF file from the openocd.texi.

There is some doc there already about the new/old syntax.

Ah, yes, the new command syntax is described but after the old syntax is used for showing how to configure the daemon. Honestly, the documentation is a difficult read. I'll have some time in the next few weeks to give it some thought and make some changes.
