First of all I have to make a few things clear. The machine that reboots is located at a computer lab that I am using to teach Python programming to kids. I booted to single user mode and disabled lightdm and now the system boots just fine. When I enter starx or Xorg, the screen gets black and after a few seconds it crashes and reboots. As I have already mentioned I am not using the "default" driver:

BTW, the machine with the GT1030 NVIDIA card is the one that I am using at home. So we are talking about two different systems.
