I don't know what your problem is, but it is definitely not
firefox. I just installed 28, and everything including
downloads to NFS mounted directories and installing compatible
plugins and addons just works without flaw (oi_151a9).
Are you runnning hipster ? Did you try with a clean (aka no)
profile ?

I have tried: first download wen fine, then i have closed FF; started
again; open page http://maven.apache.org/download.cgi and tried to get it :

Removed, because I cannot use it on my OI (at least it is annoying when
save doesn't work). But, instead this works just fine:

So, it is something what was changed since version 24 (at least). Maybe
michael.staple...@techsologic.com has right (see his comment on this).
