Can you describe how you are trying to configure your device? If it shows up in nwam-manager (the default network GUI), you should configure it the same way as an Ethernet device by selecting the device in nwam-manager, switching to "Manual configuration", and specifying an IPv4 and/or v6 address, rather than trying to bring up the interface by hand. Alternatively, you can disable NWAM using the procedure in nwamd(1) and use the legacy network configuration. Is this the mem-free or mem-full InfiniHost III?
