People do not buy Solaris (just as they did not buy IRIX and don't buy PH-UX or AIX) - they buy 'solutions' - Oracle databases, Sun hardware, and hardware and software support, and they buy it for a reason. If Oracle salespeople are coming in to your organisation, you will be buying from them - or from HP or IBM. We cannot compete with that - at all, ever - because of the huge amount of value that having a global support organisation (with PS) brings to the table. The people who can't afford the Oracle pricelist, who used OpenSolaris, SX:CE, and Solaris 10 on x86, who don't want an 'all in one' solution, who don't need or want to rely on the vendor for support - this is the real audience of the project lives.
