Well, a single-finger swipe is the same thing as a click-and-drag when the input device is a touchscreen rather than a mouse or touchpad. If we have the ability to see that information, then single-finger swipe wouldn't be so hard, right? The problem is that three-finger swipe is totally nonstandard and nobody would even think to try it, so it's practically pointless. Anyway, not trying to hijack your patch. It just occurred to me that a single-finger swipe for navigation would perhaps obviate the need for this. Either way, I'm supportive of this patch, perhaps with some UI improvements like a full-screen message explain that you can click or tap on the sides of the page to control the navigation that displays for a few seconds the first time you enter presentation mode after this lands.
