I'd like to chime in as well, as I think I understand the argument from both
sides. Hiding the statusbar would save precious pixels on devices which have a
small screen, yet it is a useful feature if screen estate is not a big issue.
However, introducing an option for this would clutter the menu - yes, it's just
one option, but have 10 of those and we're back at square 3.x ;-)
So how about this: hide the status bar in full-screen mode and show it
otherwise. No option required that way...
