Just an external/private one (compare with https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OAK-11470). No insights have been shared what exactly was failing/is now fixed. Konrad ...
What failed was an internal release validation for certain customers of a certain product. If we would know what the exact problem was, that would be in the ticket. I believe cancelling a release with a known regression - in particular when it's not fully understood - is the right thing to do. The "fix" that we have was backing out a change that we identified to cause the problem; I hope that's ok? Finally, whether we branch or back out the changes IMHO is a matter of taste, and should be left to the Release Manager for this release. Once the release is out (hopefully tomorrow), I'll revert the reverts, and it really should not matter how we got there. Reminder: any PMC member can initiate a release and execute it at any point of time (with 3 approvals). Best regards, Julian
