I observed two osprey preparing their nest today at Wertheim in Shirley. It was fascinating to watch, and just as I was about to leave, they mated. I assume that's what happened at least. Is there any other reason an osprey would sit on another? Rough landing?
Other than that, the peepers were in full chorus and everyone's favorite...the muskrat, made a nice showing.
