This evening I found a female/1st-summer *WILSON'S PLOVER* on the flat at
the south end of Sag Pond (aka Sagg Mains) in Bridgehampton, Suffolk Co.
Fortunately, Hugh McGuinness and Brian Kane were nearby and joined me in
time to see it. If you look for the plover tomorrow, I'd recommend scanning
from the various vantage points in the phragmites rather than venturing out
onto the flat itself. Undue disturbance is likely to push the plover (and
other birds) to less accessible areas. Five *BLACK SKIMMERS* and 4
*WHITE-RUMPED
SANDPIPERS* were also present along with several hundred other shorebirds.
