For those interested, the COMMON GULL was seen about 8:30 this morning sitting on the water ~ 50 yards offshore and 75 yards north of the pedestrian footbridge. When I took my eyes off him for a minute he disappeared, but quickly reappeared on one of the exposed rocks along the shoreline (still north of the footbridge). When I left he was still preening on the same rock. High tide at Fort Hamilton was 7:20 a.m.
This makes an even 50 days since he was first found. Regards, Shane B.
