In my experience the demand from developers for remote Contracts outstrips supply. Contractors undercut each other and the going rate for remote developers ends up being around that figure. Also there are other market forces such as these contracts become accessible to mainland Europeans where often the cost of living is cheaper than the UK & the local onsite jobs pay less. ITJobsWatch imo is unreliable. I believe they generate their data from recruiter job adverts on job boards. These usually have inflated salaries/rates which give the impression that they are higher than they are, however these are based on hypothetical positions which are not necessarily filled. Right now the contract market is in an awful state across the board to the point where we're seeing contractors taking permie roles as they've been out of work for months. However when they are available these are roughly the current rates: Onsite London - £400 /day Onsite outside of London - £350 /day Remote - £300 /day Best, Louis.
