Hi Sean, Regarding wider community, I go to the Manchester R meetups fairly regularly and they are generally attended by those, if not from Health or Academia, then certainly with people with a thirst for good datasets. http://www.rmanchester.org/ The mailing list is closed off, but i'm sure if you mail them they can help get the word out.
