Looks like someone got the wrong idea about "defense-in-depth".

You can double reactive AV up with complementary technologies such as
application whitelisting, intrusion detection/prevention, web
filtering, log monitoring, etc., but having two sets of reactive AV (with
all the other bloatware they bring these days added into the equation)
usually means they don't do anything extra, and probably interfere with
each other.
