I'm not getting the impression the engine update was x64 only. The vulnerability, yes. The engine update looks to me to be across the board which would explain how one day it works/next day it didn't.

Only for x64 machines, though.

Because MSE's engine got silently updated yesterday.
You got not only a def update but an engine update

    I am doing that now.

Just curious as two why after two years of this setup I am having
    this issue.

    No worries.

    Thanks

I'd agree with the above - kill one or the other and see how the
other behaves. Reactive AVs generally don't like occupying the
    same space.

Well, something must have happened :-)

Were either Trend, MSE, or Windows itself updated?

This morning I have about 25% of my workstations in my domain not
starting MSE services. I also have TrendMicro OfficeScan on these
machines and it is starting ok.

I have a mix of Windows XP and Windows 7 workstations running.

Why is this occurring all of a sudden? We have had this set up
for 2 years now. I am confused by what I am reading on Google.

And to just start now is not really sitting well with me.

    Thanks
