Usually, you request counter values with \rawcountervalue or
\convertedcounter (which is a bit counter-intuitive IMO ;).
Are there cases where \getcounter makes sense?
Options of \setupcounter: What is…
- criterium (strict positive all)?
- type (first previous next last number)?
- method (page)?
Looking into the source:
– I didn’t find criterium.
– I don’t understand type (AKA kind); does it just add/subtract 1?
– method=page subtracts 1 (but why?).
