What I am worried about is that it seems to be quiet a few other things
in the net code may be affected by a similar issue. i.e of the form a
sysctlX i just read depending on sysctlY or sysctlX itself a few lines
later either of which may change;

You do make a valid arguement however - and regardless it wont harm to
assume the worst.

I have to take off - I will do this tommorow and will work with Brian
