After weeks on banging my head on this, I figure it out within an hour of posting it to NANOG. You guys are good luck!
For future reference/Google, the factory default password for (at least the LightningEdge 427 - not sure about the 311v yet) these switches is: su/wwp. Obviously, you should change this prior to deployment! Best Regards, Nathan Eisenberg
