Somewhere I have a first edition of Steven's TCP/IP Illustrated, in some box of books I can't find.

Strangely, "3600 seconds" is one timeout value which doesn't exist in that chapter (or TCP). Yep, ISPs and middleware boxes use that value, often incorrectly.
