Hi Chris:

Many months after you wrote that glorious reply regarding, inheriting
sub-items, I am only now noticing it. Sorry about that.

Yes, I do, do a lot of filtering using custom views, but now it's not as
relevant as it was back when I initially wrote up that question.

Because of the extra work involved with management of dates, I just gave up
on that approach altogether...in favor of a this simplified approach:

1) I categorize all tasks into main categories using color coded customer
formatting. I run several businesses and each business is a main item.
2) I flag the items I need to focus on each day ACROSS the main items. This
way in the flag view, important tasks a projects from each business show
up.
3) I put to sleep items for X amount of time important items that are too
important to unflag but which I don't want to distract me. I do this using
Automatic Formatting. Items that are "sleeping" are grayed out for
anywhere from 15 minutes to 8 hours.

If there's anyone else who uses "putting items to sleep" let's discuss.
