time, I was trying to compile a newer version of mutt so that I could
avoid sendmail; then found out that fetchmail still required sendmail
and wouldn't use nullmailer. Then tried to find out about maildrop to
replace procmail.
alternative to fetchmail; getmail can deliver to local mailboxes
directly. And apparently there's something called fdm that does
retrieval, filtering, and delivery.
I'll look into getmail which might avoid all the roadblocks so far
encountered. Thanks for the suggestions.
