No, it does not illustrate a "need" but provides you an opportunity the
alter the headers before sending your post.  Supposedly *most* people are
finished editing the "body" when they exit the editor and viewing that
text is finished.  Would you prefer that mutt emulate the "other" system
that consistently asks you "Do you really want to
<what-ever-function-you-indicated>"?

I suppose *you* could edit your .muttrc and configure your chosen editor
to "ask-yes" or "ask-no" to indicate your indecision.
