Yet, were that same individual seated at your dinner table to drool, chew loudly with open mount and face in his plate, use fingers instead of utensils, and wipe them upon his shirt/sleeves, ...., you would likely *never* invite him there again. Here many pass on w/o comment and others advise that it is on the OP to adjust or make effort to conform to *expected* standards. Expectations that are the onus of the OP. The trivialities you attach are as *seen* by *you*. Approaching a potential employer, you would utillize mannerisms you believe *he* expects. Why not the same respect for those you present expectations? Aren't you sitting in the same light? Remember, it is *you* making requests and not the people you expect to respond. Why would one address Dr. James Smith and Doctor rather than James? Respect and courtesy *are* the "more important things in life to worry about".
