I don't know the current status of every list manager, but I've seen cases (probably in older versions of Mailman) where absence of the [tag] would cause problems. IIRC it was specifically that you would get this pattern: Send Subject: Foo Recv Subject: [list] Foo Send Subject: Re: [list] Foo Recv Subject: Re: [list] Foo Send Subject: Re: Foo Recv Subject: [list] Re: Foo Send Subject: Re: [list] Re: Foo Recv Subject: Re: [list] Re: Foo I imagine this is still possible where someone is using a "re:" string that the list manager does not recognize as a localized version of Latin (aw, sv, etc). -- David Champion • d...@uchicago.edu • IT Services • University of Chicago
