Yes and no. Given 'mutt-mb ~/Mail' prints '~/Mail/foobar' and given that 
$folder is ~/Mail, you get:

  mailboxes ~/Mail ~/Mail/foobar

with the former and:

  mailboxes ~/Mail/foobar

with the latter. See "mailbox shortcuts" in the manual.
