I found this useful: http://pyropus.ca/software/getmail/faq.html#faq-configuring-envelope http://wiki.mutt.org/?MuttGuide/Send > Question 2: does this only work because I have my From: adres set in > the muttrc as well ? As I understand the manual, yes. I use folder-hook . "set [EMAIL PROTECTED] realname='John Doe'" # default, generate header "From: John Doe <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>" set use_from=yes # use `sendmail -f [EMAIL PROTECTED] set use_envelope_from=yes If $envelope_from_address it not set, Mutt will determine [EMAIL PROTECTED] from the "Form:" header, as stated in the manual. The construction of the "From:" header is influenced by (a) my_hdr or (b) $use_from. In case (b), if you don't set [EMAIL PROTECTED] you get something like "From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]". Can some guru confirm this? :) steve
