Actually I did install vim and used it for a while... the fact, though, is that for someone not used to vim/vi, that is too a pretty steep learning curve. I am much more used to pico/nano (coming from pine). Now that I have adopted mutt, which itself features a pretty steep learning curve for the beginner, I figured I'll start using mutt with nano so as to concentrate at first on learning mutt, then eventually when more mutt-knowledgeable, I'll learn vim and switch to it for good.
