Not reproducable here (on 4.7-STABLE). The best way on FreeBSD is to use the port /usr/ports/mail/mutt-devel; to use compressed folders do: cd /usr/ports/mail/mutt-devel; make -DWITH_MUTT_COMPRESSED_FOLDERS You need of course an up to date ports tree for this.
