well, I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I'm still
using the old notation, eg
        
        set spoolfile {server/ssl}/INBOX        #using ssl encryption
        mailboxes {server/ssl}/Mail/in-inbox    #using procmail
                                                #filtering
        mailboxes {server/ssl}/Mail/in-l-mutt

>     set imap_pass = {pw}
>     bind index "A" 'imap-fetch-mail'
>     mailboxes !
