there's currently no caching for IMAP headers. there's a patch by michael elkins to do this for Maildir folders in 1.5.0; he mentions that the code could fairly easily be extended to work with IMAP as well, but it doesn't currently. a couple other things you might consider; you could use isync to sync the imap server to local Maildir folders (never done this either, so not sure how well it would work). if you have shell access on your mail machine, and it's on a good connection, i'd just run mutt on the machine itself. -- Will Yardley input: william < @ hq . newdream . net . >
