Ah. % ... % > What are the permissions of your mutt_dotlock program, and perhaps of % > your mutt program? % > % > Please feed us the output of % > % > ls -l `which mutt` `which mutt_dotlock` % % I compiled mutt from CVS (state from approx 4. Feb) myself. I can't % install it as suid root naturally as I don't have root access. OK. If you can't talk root installing mutt_dotlock with special permissions (it's quite small and simple, and intended particularly for the case of the SysAdmin who wants to read the code before turning it loose) then you'll have to quit using /var/mail and only use folders that you can properly lock. If you already procmail/maildrop/whatever your mail, change your default drop to something like $HOME/Mailbox, or if you don't yet then implement a simple config to do so, and then use either your hack or another mail program to save all of /var/mail/joze to that folder. % % -- % Johannes :-D -- David T-G * It's easier to fight for one's principles (play) [EMAIL PROTECTED] * than to live up to them. -- fortune cookie (work) [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.justpickone.org/davidtg/ Shpx gur Pbzzhavpngvbaf Qrprapl Npg!
