Truthfully, implementing something along the lines of Pines collections would solve all of my problems as long as mutt could handle logging into the multiple imap servers simultaneously on startup. I also use collections for grouping stuff on the local box. For instance, I have the following collections on my local box (in addition to the two imap servers on my home and work box) friends -- contains about 40 mailboxes with mail correspondence for various friends. family -- contains about 6 mailboxes with various family members mail. pbem -- contains about 20 mailboxes related to various pbem games I play or have played misc -- contains about 30-40 mailboxes with a variety of miscellaneous topics. I have a couple more, but you get the idea. Right now when I recieve a mail in my primary inbox, I can quickly (via ^N/^P) select the folder collection it belongs to, and then tab complete (within that collection) to the correct folder. Total cost, about 3-8 keystrokes depending on the length of the non-unique prefix of the folder I want to save it to. As far as I can tell from mutt, tab completion only works in the current level of the directory, so I can get approximately the same (though not exactly the same) behaviour within any given server store (either local or remote) and using the filesystem heirarchy. This doesn't make it easy to store various folder collections on various locations of the same disk, which I would miss, but isn't critical. I'll pop onto the openprojects.net server in a moment. - --JT - -- [-------------------------------------------------------------------------] [ Practice random kindness and senseless acts of beauty. ] [ It's hard to seize the day when you must first grapple with the morning ] [-------------------------------------------------------------------------] -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE8QLfLlZQYYI16LJQRAhuGAJ43X8IKKbA/obQ7PZiLa7uPIyjqPACdH0CM 0HOGXJy4nOMBbnMBcBkELHY= =+FU1 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
