I have a puzzle ....
I have mutt-1.2.5i installed as the recommended mail client on my system. Compile options are: System: Linux 2.4.12-ac3 [using ncurses 5.0] Compile options: -DOMAIN -DEBUG -HOMESPOOL -USE_SETGID +USE_DOTLOCK +USE_FCNTL -USE_FLOCK +USE_IMAP -USE_GSS -USE_SSL +USE_POP -HAVE_REGCOMP +USE_GNU_REGEX +HAVE_COLOR +HAVE_PGP -BUFFY_SIZE -EXACT_ADDRESS +ENABLE_NLS SENDMAIL="/usr/sbin/sendmail" MAILPATH="/var/spool/mail" SHAREDIR="/usr/local/share/mutt" SYSCONFDIR="/usr/local/etc" ISPELL="/usr/bin/ispell" I set up two accounts for a new user yesterday. Mutt insists on opening her mailboxes read-only. Even if I, as root, su to her account and explicitly run /usr/local/bin/mutt to make totally certain I'm not hitting an alias, with read_only explicitly set to no in .muttrc, the mailbox is still opened read-only. File ownership and permissions on the mailbox and on /var/spool/mail are correct. Any ideas? Diagnostic tips? I'm baffled. -- ********* Fight Back!
