Fwd: Using mutt to sort mailboxes by thread

I have large mailboxes (archives of Usenet groups) that I would
like to sort by thread. Thought of tagging all articles in the
box and saving them to another mailbox (otT^;C) but how do you
do that from a shell script (not interactively) ?
