The solution is to tell Mutt that you also want the envelope sender to
be set to the same address as the From header.

  set envelope_from

This works only with Mutt 1.2 and later.  If you have an earlier
version, you need to either upgrade (recommended) or play around with
the $sendmail variable, adding the desired sender address with the -f
switch.
