I can't imagine how it would be different if you use a hand-typed
mailboxes line, as opposed to using `echo Mail/*`. The two should be
completely inter-changeable. The N flag for (mbox) folders is
determined by timestamps of the folders, nothing else.

That would work. I personally have "IN." as the first part of all
incoming mail, and just use "IN.*" as the pattern.
