 Thanks for the advice. I switched to 1.3.7 ... everthing seemed
 to be ok at first, but then I just sent myself a piece of mail
 from another account and when Mutt detected the new mail in
 the box it attempted to re-sync, yielding:

 Fetching message headers... [52/52]                                             
 And just locks. Neither ^C nor ^\ does a thing.

 Some info, don't know if its helpful:
