the resource at http://www.mutt.org/doc/manual/manual-4.html#ss4.11
says in part:

When browsing folders on an IMAP server, you can toggle whether to look at only
the
folders you are subscribed to, or all folders with the toggle-subscribed command.
     See also the $imap_list_subscribed variable.

Which implies to me that it is possible to browse folders of an IMAP server.
So how is that done?

Also a real basic question (just starting with mutt):
i presume i can set any configuration variable in the command line, or while running
mutt,
or in my .muttrc. But I don't see how I can do the first two of these from the
documentation.

Also, is there a way to absolutely prevent mutt from mucking about with my /var/mail
or /home/mda/inbox and so on -- i want it to do nothing *except* imap.
