emacsclient

I have a (probably dumb) question I can't find the answer to. I'm
using emacs as my editor and I have it configured as emacsclient in
muttrc which works great in X. Yet if I try to work from the console, I
can't bring up emacs when I want to write a mail. Is there a way to do
this, or do I just have to use emacs instead of emacslient if I want
to work from the console?
