How about using edit_hdrs, and having $EDITOR be a script that
checks the buffer it's pointed at, and if it contains the magic addr
in the header, it appends your chosen boilerplate before invoking
the editor? If your editor supports it, the editor invocation could
even start you off at the point where you want to enter the addr.

I don't know about in postponed, necessarily, but at least in some
settings I think the "e" command clones off a copy to send. At least
that's what it looked like when I've tripped over it, I've never
actually wanted it:-).
