bind index <tab> next-unread
bind pager <tab> next-unread
I assume that's what you want, despite the subject line which talks
about new messages. "New" is not the same as "unread", unless you have
$mark_old unset (so next-new and next-unread is separate functions).
Tab is by default bound to the next-new function in both the index and
the pager.
