This is probably folder-type specific.  I don't have any problems like
this with Maildirs...

Mutt *does* remember the current directory, ie. the directory it was
started in.  However I suspect you want Mutt to *change* the current
directory, when changing folders...  When you specify a mail folder
such as =mutt/users, this is actually an absolute path to the mail
folder (eg. /home/user/Mail/mutt/users), not a relative path.

I'm not sure about that.  Of course, ideally this would be an option,
so everyone would get it to behave like they want.
