Well, it certainly sounds like procmail doesn't autodetect the mailbox
type like Mutt does. Should procmail perhaps borrow this nifty feature
from Mutt?

A new alternative to procmail was mentioned here recently. Can anyone
tell us anything about it?

(I think it's not off-topic to discuss here whether to use procmail or
something else together with mutt ...)
